Amass the Components, oil on paper mounted to MDF, 12" x 16"
Another piece for Avacyn Restored. Painting
someone more or less unhinged was fun. I was worried that she would come of as just happy and not crazy, but I think I got the expression right. I also enjoyed painting the different
colors and degrees of viscosity of the liquids in the jars.
Awesome Matt! That has to be Gina you used for ref, right? I'm in no way calling her crazy mind you. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa1 That's so great!!
ReplyDeleteThat's too good man, I love all the little details.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys,
ReplyDelete@Lucas-Haha, yeah Gina posed for this piece. She did do a good job at being crazy..for the reference I mean :)
This piece gets me on two levels.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I dig the piece as a whole and, as usual, I'm in awe of your skills.
Second, it strikes at the very heart of what I find to be somewhat lacking in fantasy: humor. Don't get me wrong, there are folks doing it, but for my money, there aren't enough of them.
Good stuff!
The crazy is definitely hanging out in the whites of her eyes
ReplyDeleteThis is easily my favorite art in the set for the mad glee on her face. When will this be available as an Etsy print? :D
ReplyDelete@ga
ReplyDeleteI can make a print of this or most any other image. Just send me an email and I'll create a reserve listing for you.
